Sue Simone, Founder
While caring for her terminally ill mother, Sue began recording their heartfelt conversations — creating a treasured archive of family stories that deepened bonds and inspired a lasting legacy.
That experience led her to become an End-of-Life Doula and ignited her mission to help others preserve meaningful memories with Celebrate Life Stories. A creative entrepreneur with 30+ years in media and advocacy, Sue is known for crafting impactful, collaborative projects. Today, she leads our team in helping families share their life stories — so they can be remembered and
cherished for generations.

Dedication
CelebrateLifeStories.com is dedicated to Liz Shear and David Jewell—partners in life, love, and service. After losing Liz, his beloved wife, and learning his cancer was no longer treatable, David felt called to record his life story for those he loved. His courage and devotion inspired this platform: a space to honor life, love, and legacy.
Liz was a powerful force in San Diego’s nonprofit world—a youth advocate, educator, and mentor who shaped generations of leaders. David’s path spanned music, teaching, and nonprofit consulting, often working alongside Liz through their firm, Shear Directions. Together, they built a life rich in meaning and connection. This site is a tribute to their legacy—and a place for others to preserve and celebrate stories of lives well lived.
